Opthalmology

Professor Stone was appointed as a Consultant Rheumatologist in the Division of Ophthalmology Guys and St Thomas Hospital to create a program to support patients with inflammatory eye diseases who require immunosuppressant drugs.

This is a unique and very bespoke role; the first of it's kind in Uk.

As part of this role Professor Stone also works at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Professor Stone launched the inflammation and uveitis eye care program (I and U care program) to support the work of her surgical colleagues at both sites with patients who require advanced immune therapies. Many of these patients suffer from conditions that affect sight and life hence a multidisciplinary team approach is essential to save both sight and lives.

The I and U care prices brings together clinicians (doctors nurses and Pharmacists) working closely together with patients to save sight and lives.
